Built in 1890, this house began as a private residence, but by 1918 was operated as an Inn/Restaurant by Gertrude Thompson whose husband worked as a foreman on the railroad. In 1945 it was purchased by Sanford Hill who renamed it the Chippanock Inn (bright north star). He continued to operate it until his death in the early 1990'S.
